I had so many good things that I was going to blog about. I swear. There were like… three of them. And now i have page fright. (you know, like stage fr… nevermind.)

So I’m not sure that jon likes me.
I mean, I’m pretty sure he loves me and doesn’t like, regret the whole proposal thing, but im not positive that he like, enjoys my company. He’s always telling me I’m dirty and that i shouldn’t wipe my allergy-nose on my clothes. Or that i should use a napkin instead of wiping my hands on my pants. well. this just turned into a commentary on my eating habits.

Anyhow. I think i want lotus flowers. (picture to come, if i can procure such a thing).
And I can’t find pink shoes yet because apparently it’s not spring enough for “spring fashion”.
And Anne Amie still hasn’t gotten back to me about the vineyard space to get married in.
And I still have very little idea about what the invitations will look like.

Travel Info

I’ve just updated the “Travel Info” button above. If you’re interested in dates and details, that would be a great place to start.

oh man, i love rogue hazelnut beer.

jon and i were thinking… how important is it that all the groomsmen match? He raised the issue of double vs. single breast suits, I also pointed out that the blacks may not match perfectly and one of the groomsmen is in possession of a striped suit. Does it matter?

Does it matter if my bridemaids dont wear the same shade of brown? what happened to “eclectic” and “shades of brown and pink”? What are the chances of us coming across as looking sloppy? I certainly dont want hobo-wedding, but the ever impossible funky-urban-wedding-in-the-vineyards sounds cool. :)

What if we just do a really good job of carrying the different browns / pinks through the rest of the wedding?

I give up! Everyone wear jeans!

Recipes

I found a really cool resource!

Oregon Bounty is a 100 page cookbook, filled with recipes from around Oregon. They all feature local flavours and ingredients.

I’m sure the .pdf is a bound book somewhere, because it’s so thourough. Awesome find–Hopefully you can use it!

My Priorities

As the wedding plans slowly skyrocket out of control, I thought I’d take a minute to remind myself what’s important to us in the day.

  1. Spending time with family and friends, all under one roof
  2. Sharing two of our favourite things with those people: great food and great wine
  3. I think disc golf is at the top of jon’s list.
  4. Wine. good wine. did i mention that yet?
  5. Fun! Why is this all so serious? I want to get everyone together and taste some laugh, chat, get to know each other, and …. go home a little happier than we were before.

For better or worse, we found a couple of really pretty spots. Here were two of them:
Anne Amie

Anne Amie: Maybe still my favourite place–the views were just incredible. The problem is that we’re not sure they’d be very receptive to letting us inside if it rained. Also, jon said he didn’t love the wines as much as some other places.

Rex Hill

Rex Hill: Another cool place–and another vineyard that wasn’t really into the idea of weddings in their spot.

I’m almost wondering if the guerrilla wedding is the way to go.

“What wedding? I just like to wear big white dresses.”
