life lessons
Things I learned today:
- Number 1: Taffeta is not a good material. In the ’80s, Nike used to make windbreakers out of something surprisingly similar to taffeta.
- Number 2: I almost asked two of the girls that I actually really like to wear this hideous invention.
- Number 3: I almost had life-long pictures of said girls in said ugly dresses
Okay. Enough about my hatred for taffeta. I went to try on this dress that I’ve been obsessing about. I feel like I cheated on my dress. I didn’t love the Other Dress. But you know, I’m glad I didn’t love it.
I really like my dress. My only qualm with it is that it’s a little more formal than I would like. It’s actually a lot more formal that I would have imagined for myself, and doesn’t lend itself well to the whole image of romping through a vineyard on a saturday afternoon. But maybe I’m oversimplifying. Of course things aren’t either “right” or “wrong”, but i sure do wish there was some solid line between “perfect dress” and “an amazing awesome dress”.
