teamEggers has neglected you.  We’re sorry.  My internet doesn’t work at home.  How absurd is that?

Anyways, Chris and Rachel were in town last weekend. It was fantastic to have them around for a few days.  Good to be around people that know you really well, as I’m sure anyone living away from home can tell you.

I briefly cheated on my dress again, changed the flowers, considered wearing a veil and had a freaked out a bit about hotels and transportation.  Weddings are so much fun.  Is it possible that I decide on something and not change my mind six times?  Is that normal? I figure, as long as the groom stays the same we’re in good shape–the rest are just accessories.

Which leads me to the question… is there really a “perfect” anything?   Is there a “perfect” dress?  The “perfect” flowers?  It seems so absurd.  There’s just so many ways it could go, how do you decide on The One over and over again?  Pft.   I think we should just all let go of the idea that The Wedding will be “perfect” and let it be what it develops into.  And in the meantime, I should stop being so OCD.

I’m a slave to my inbox, I’d better get back to work.

San Diego

Jon and I will be living in San Diego for three months, starting mid-June.  Of course, this complicates things with life, wedding and work, but I’m sure it’ll end up being great. We’re planning a five-day road trip to drive down the California coast on the way there.

I didn’t have anything specific to tell you all, just thought it should be publically known. :)

where to start?

I’ve been having internet issues lately and can’t seem to post from home. So. I appologize about the absence.

You’ve probably gotten the ‘Save the Date’ in the mail by now, so if this is your first time here a good place to begin is the “Things You Should Know” tab up above. 30 second recap. I’ll work on updating it with the most current info soon.

Let’s see… what’s new. Pieces are falling into place quite well, though it seems that jon and I may be planning more of a long-distance wedding than we had initially expected (more on that later). I think (and I’m sure I’m forgetting some things!) but all we’re really missing at this point is the musician, officiant (who needs that part anyways, sheesh), and transportation for everyone.

I think the latest thing Rachel and I are working on planning is the bachelorette party. You know what? I think the purpose for the party is stupid.  More than that, it seems to be the one part of the wedding that people are surprisingly reluctant about letting me change. Weird, right? Nearly every part of the wedding weekend jon and I have reevaluated and tweaked a bit from the traditional way, to fit our lives. But… there’s an odd reluctance with the bachelorette party. I think it’s absurd.

Anyways. It appears that I should get back to work.

so. weddings.

I’m excited about the wedding again. Thanks to my super intelligent, and super fabulous maid of honour who has been gracefully bugging me to get back on the ball.

I am… pretty ____ about _____. Let’s play madlibs. together. everyone now.

this is a spectacular blog post. whatever.
