There’s a wine store, downstairs from our apartment. Everyone in this particular town seems to have a web site. I really appreciate that.
We appear to live in the middle of restaurant-row. It’s kind of nice. There are like… six solid blocks of restaurants and quite a few of them look like they’ll be open for lunch, which is great because then jon and I can go together.
Well we’re here. Our apartment is just short of amazing, and the city seems to be sunny most of the day. Really nice weather too–I was really concerned about it being just terribly hot all the time, and it looks like it stays right around the high 70s.
I can’t work the dryer. And our washing machine seems to have a dryer built in. So I have 2 dryers and can’t work either of them. It’s making me feel really intelligent today. Sigh. The answering machine and I also had a bit of a spat. Honestly now. I haven’t worked an *answering machine* in nearly 9 years. How archaic.
So it’s a beautiful day with an entirely new city to explore, and I can’t bring myself to go outside. I think it really sucks that jon has to work at night and we can’t hang out together. Grumble.
