Day two, check.

Well, we made it.  Had an incredible day in Napa and ended up just south of the Oregon border in an environmentally friendly hotel called Gaia.

I have so many pictures from the day, so we’ll wait to tell you all about it later.  But just know that there was wine, food and awesomeness.

Oh.  And  magnums. We are now magnum-people.

Napa

Well, we made it to Napa alright. Last night we stayed in a little hotel above a brewery in the northern part of Napa Valley – Calistoga. I have a knack for finding those hotels that don’t have air conditioning, tvs, or bathrooms in each room. I think they’re charming. Jury’s still out on what jon thinks.

Anyways, Calistoga Inn has some pretty nice beers, though their actual bar is too-cool-for-school so we didn’t spend much time down there last night.

Plans for today are to hit up a couple of wineries to do tastings at, we have a couple of tours scheduled, and then dinner at a vegetarian restaurant. Hopefully we’ll get to hit up Cakebread, St. Supery, Opus One and Mumm, but there are so many!

After that, we’re off to the lake-shasta area to stay in an eco-friendly hotel that *hopefully* will be slightly more luxurious than the Calistoga Inn.

Oh, and thanks for stopping by!

Jon and I were so surprised to start seeing RSVPs trickle in for our October Party.  So if you’re one of the new ones here, stopping by because we just sent out an invitation — Hello!

I’ll definitely have more information about the luau on here once we settle back in to life in Seattle.  In the mean time, some more details about the wedding are found in that link to your right.  (30 second recap).    Everything needs an update.  I’m working on it.

Well San Diego

Well San Diego, it’s been fun.  I’m sitting in our apartment for the last few hours (while jon sleeps in of course), and am just… rather grateful for the experience.  We did SO much while we were down here.  And I this may sound really cheesy, but we’re just… soinlove. It’s awesome.  I’m really a lucky girl on all accounts.

–Cheryl & Michael, if you’re reading this, it was really great to see you. Not only are you some of the closest family I have, but I really enjoy the time we spend together.

–Other highlights of the trip:  discovering that i don’t hate baseball, disneyland (omg), sea  world, the zoo,  countless really good meals (the fishery stands out as  highlight), 6 flags, yuma, being able to sit on my balcony drinking a glass of wine and watching the firetrucks go by, having an incredible wine store right downstairs…

Well, you get the picture. We took a 3-month-vacation and had an incredible time.

So as they say, Good Night and Good Luck. I’ll leave you with a couple of random photos from my neighborhood.

First, PandaDay

The last time we went to the zoo, there was a FOUR HOUR wait to see the pandas. J and I thought that was absurd, so decided to come back at a later time.  Well, our last day in San Diego was fast approaching, so we decided that last wednesday was Panda Day.

It was naptime in pandaland, so they weren’t… active, persay. But ah-dor-able nonetheless.

“Hi. I’m a panda. I think I’ll just sleep… oh, anywhere is fine.”
