SVC classes

I just got an email from SVC (the School of Visual Concepts here in Seattle) talking about their new classes this year. This one made me want to curl up under a desk and cry.  How is it that I’m so far away from the field I wanted to be in?

Advertising Portfolio Classes

Classes meet for 5 or 10 weeks, 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., $385 or $495 ea. Some of the biggest brains on the Seattle ad scene put their books together at SVC. Now you can work on yours and go hit them up for a job. Choose from Intro to Ad Concepts, Intermediate Ad Concepts Lab, Intro to PR Writing, or Copywriting for Design and the Web.

woah, it’s tuesday.

Well. It’s tuesday.  We move to Japan on Monday.  That’s J-minus-6-days and counting. Roger that.

We found a new friend to move into our apartment while we’re gone, which will be really good for everyone involved.  Just means I need to wash the kitchen floor tonight.  Yes.  I will… get to that.

I have a very love/hate relationship with the sesajob. I find it challenging and exciting but in the same ways i find it makes me want to kill myself.  I was caught up on Monday.  Caught up.  Looked forward to going into work.  I can’t explain how exciting being *caught up* was.  After normal work days on monday and tuesday, with normal amounts of phone calls and emails and office happening coming in, I am now significantly behind again.

Sigh.

I never talk to you guys about my job, so I thought it was fair to vent for a few lines.  Take that.

On to brighter news, I made these tasty crab stuffed mushroom caps last night.  Paired them with a lamb and redwine pasta thing and a really light salad.  Pinot noir from our first adventures in Oregon.  Not to toot my own horn, but it was pretty damn tasty for a recipe-less, impromptu dinner. Slowly but surely, I think I may be getting better at the cooking.
