Ask a Giraffe.

Probably the coolest name for a cafe, ever. Ask a Giraffe is a small cafe with a huge feeling. Glass walls overlooking the river and the city make for a very spacious feeling interior, while the old wooden tables make the space feel very comfortable and lived in.

Ask a Giraffe

Jon and I met after work for a game of scrabble and some wine. I’m not sure he had that great of a time (I kicked his butt in scrabble) but i thought the place was perfect. I’ll definitely be back.

When we sat down, they handed us a sheet with the specials listed on it, all in japanese. We decided to get the first one ($5) and just be surprised at what it was. Keeping in mind that it could have been anything from chopped liver to a martini, we were STOKED when we got chocolate cake! How perfect!

Bummer.

I’m having a bit of a bummer-evening today.

Jon and I went to talk with the travel agency on base about buying tickets for our international trip (remember that I HAVE to leave the country before my visa expires in April), and it didn’t go so well as I thought.

What was advertised as an $87 flight to Bangkok was sold out. Everything at every advertised price point was sold out. What we’re looking at is an $850 trip to thailand, or on the cheaper side, a $550 trip to south korea.

So you know. I’m trying to find my calm center and all, but right now I’m really jealous of Jill’s extra-long visa.
